Live-In Home Care

Quality Care - The Unified Pledge Way!

Seniors may reach a stage in life where live-in home care is needed due to age-related decline, chronic illness, or disease related issues.  If live-in care can be provided safely, it is a much more cost effective way of providing senior care when compared to 24 hour supervision that requires around the clock caregivers working on shifts. It can also be less stressful on your loved one as they have one live-in caregiver to become familiar with, rather than a whole team.

One very important thing to ask is, can your loved one be left alone safely while the caregiver sleeps?  If not, this may not be the best type of care for them.  Either way, we highly encourage giving us a call so we can listen to your home care goals and help you determine if live-in care makes sense or if there is a better option.

What to Expect from Live In Caregivers

Our Live In caregivers are certified nursing assistants or home health aides.  Even though they live in the home, they still have a daily plan of care to follow with oversight from a Registered Nurse.

Services that can be provided with Live-In Home Care:

  • Physical assistance with functional activities of daily living such as personal hygiene , dressing, toileting, continence, eating, and transferring.

  • Basic medication management and administration

  • Accurately measuring vital signs such as temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate, and blood pressure

  • Measuring and recording fluid intake and output

  • Facilitating light exercise routines for seniors and prescribed range of motion exercises

  • Routine housekeeping to keep the bedroom, kitchen, and living areas clean and help prevent slip and trip accidents

  • Planning and preparing healthy meals

  • Buying medications, groceries, and other essential items

  • Encouragement and companionship, to help older adults combat loneliness

  • Playing games, encouraging patients to pursue their hobbies, and facilitating activities to keep them mentally and socially engaged

  • Coordinating and/or providing transportation to medical appointments and social activities

  • Monitoring patients’ condition. Alerting family members and our supervisory nurse about changes in their physical condition or behavior
