The largest difference between care provided by a Home Health Aide vs. a Companion is that the Home Health Aide can actually provide physical assistance with Activities of Daily Living, Take Vitals (blood pressure,) and Administer Basic Medications. They have state certification training requirements that must be met in order to perform these duties.

What to Expect from a Home Health Aide
In addition to being able to perform all duties that are offered by an elderly companion caregiver, below is a sample list of services that you can expect from our Home Health Aide Team:

Assistance with all Activities of Daily Living such as: Bathing, Dressing, Eating, Transferring, Toileting, and Continence.

Basic Medication management and administration assistance.

Measuring Vitals such as: Blood Pressure, Temperature, Pulse, Respiration, etc.

Recording of fluid intake and outputs, along with simple urine tests if needed.

Assistance with light exercises and range of motion that have been prescribed.

Changing of light and simpler dressings.

Provides Client, Supervisory Nurse, and Family with documentation of services provided.
